Sedation Dentistry

Does the mention of a visit to the dentist office cause your pulse to quicken?  You’re not alone.  Many people would rather put up with the ongoing agony of tooth aches and pain rather than step foot inside a dentist office.  Some people have low tolerance for pain, other’s have bad gag reflexes, and some people simply struggle to sit still for a prolonged period of time.  If that describes you pretty well, dental sedation may very well be your solution. Sedation dentistry incorporates the use of different types of sedatives to relax and still the patient during many common and complex dental procedures. At our office, we offer the very best in relaxation dentistry.

CONSCIOUS SEDATION

Also known as relaxation dentistry, conscious sedation is the most common technique used to alleviate patient anxiety.  Requiring no needles or injections, the sedative is often administered through a pill or nitrous oxide (more commonly known as laughing gas).  Orally sedated patients typically have no memory of the procedure and feel as if they slept their way through it.  In reality, patients are wake but kept in a reduced state of conscious awareness during the procedure.  Our own Dr. Janda is licensed in oral sedation can immediately address your concerns and questions during your visit.
